Exhibitors reap a harvest of orders from 138TH Canton fair

The 138th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, has kicked off a surge of global purchasing, highlighting China’s transition toward high-end, intelligent, and eco-friendly manufacturing. From Zhejiang’s innovative manufacturing and Xi’an’s brand development to Guangxi’s equipment exports and Beijing’s technological advancements, Chinese enterprises are demonstrating their progress in transformation.

Zhejiang province’s manufacturing sector is transitioning from traditional production to intelligent manufacturing. Companies with core technologies are leveraging the Canton Fair as an international platform to facilitate this transition.

Zhongjian Technology, based in Zhejiang, has garnered attention with its Lingrui P1 quadruped robot, which can clear obstacles up to 45 centimeters high and climb angles exceeding 45 degrees. A Middle Eastern buyer praised it as an ideal solution for inspecting the complex terrains of oil pipelines. On the first day of the fair, Zhongjian Technology secured 11 preliminary orders valued at approximately $1.3 million.

Zhejiang Sunseeker Industrial has also attracted significant attention with its Sunseeker X4 intelligent lawn mowing robot. “We invited over 100 buyers from regions such as Europe and North America for discussions before the fair,” said Qin Song, the company’s exhibition head.

The company received numerous cooperation inquiries and reached agreements with several international retailers, with potential deals exceeding $1.5 million. “The Canton Fair helps our smart products gain global recognition, enhancing China’s presence in intelligent manufacturing,” Qin added.

Zhejiang Jinaolan Machine Tool has drawn interest with its ALPS-80 servo motor punching line, which supports user programming. “Many buyers brought sample drawings to discuss production solutions,” said company representative Huang Chunlian. On the first day alone, they received more than 20 inquiries from India, Algeria, Africa and Southeast Asia, collecting more than 100 business cards.

Beijing companies are exhibiting their “smart+” products. Making its debut at the fair, Bingo Technology has launched the world’s first screenless artificial intelligence tutoring device, which enables users to write and read directly on the projection surface, transforming desks into smart education terminals.

Fmart Technology’s window-cleaning robot has attracted European buyers with its high cost-effectiveness. “Given the current European situation, cost-effectiveness is a priority, and Fmart’s products stand out,” said a Swedish supermarket buyer who ordered 20,000 units, totaling about $1.6 million.

Buyers are drawn by brand names straight to their booths, said employees of several Xi’an companies after the first day. “The global market’s recognition is a testament to Xi’an companies’ efforts at the Canton Fair.” Many buyers approached booths with pre-established contacts via WeChat or WhatsApp, clearly expressing cooperation intentions.

Shaanxi Xinbenyu Import and Export has converted technological achievements into commercial value through its “problem identification-rapid iteration-service loop” mechanism. The ongoing fair has seen a 34 percent increase in orders from existing clients, with a 100 percent renewal rate from Saudi and Turkish buyers. The company has also made breakthroughs in acquiring new clients, with new orders expected to reach $1 million, covering Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

Companies from the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region are strengthening their presence in global markets with equipment and green intelligence.

Yuchai Heavy Industry’s compact excavator series impressed US agents with its retractable chassis and tail-less design, securing contracts worth more than 3 million yuan ($421,050) and 15 million yuan in intended orders.

Sicily Elevator, a first-time exhibitor, made a remarkable debut by reaching an agreement for 200 units worth about $9 million with Ethiopian buyers on the first day. Buyers from Mali and India also showed interest.

Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor has showcased its self-developed new energy vehicles. On the first day of the fair, the star model FORTHING attracted significant attention, securing 3 million yuan in intended orders, along with signing memorandums of understanding with buyers from Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Yemen.

The Tianjin delegation reached intended deals worth $27 million. Leading the way were Tianjin Jinmao Group and Sunrise (Tianjin) Packaging Machinery, with transaction amounts of $2 million and $1.5 million, respectively. Exhibitors reported a significant increase in buyers from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, with emerging markets becoming new growth points.
